Founded in 1995, the Indiana Industrial Operators Association, Inc. (IIOA) is an individual-membership, non-profit professional society, dedicated to the advancement in the profession of wastewater treatment.  IIOA fosters this advancement through comprehensive educational programs that benefit everyone involved in this widely diversified  industry, along with efforts to educate the community in its outreach programs. 
The primary mission of IIOA is to serve professionals in wastewater treatment, to benefit industry and society through education, information and social involvement.  Membership is open to all wastewater professionals and those who provide services, supplies, equipment and support to the industry.

Waste Water Treatment Center Operator

Class B
Exopack, LLC is seeking an experienced individual to fill a position in our Waste Water Treatment Center at our Seymour, Indiana facility.  This position is responsible for the operation, documentation and reporting of all activities of our treatment center.  This position requires a Class “B”  Waste Water Operator Certification.  The position is also responsible for additional environmental related activities.  Attention to detail is a must.    Preferred candidates will have previous experience in a similar position. Title:           Environmental Technician  Class C
Company:     New Energy Corp. – manufacturer of fuel grade ethanol located in Northern Indiana.                                                                                    

General Duties and Responsibilities:
Environmental Technician duties include sampling, analysis and flow monitoring of waste and storm water.   Management of containment areas.  Coal Sampling, compositing and shipping to lab.  Involvement in wastewater treatment plant – DAF (dissolved air flotation) and BFP (belt filter press) operations. Also responsible for waste drum management, well water monitoring and pest control.  Management of LDAR (leak detection and repair) program under the SOCMI (synthetic organic chemical manufacturing industry) regulations.

Education, Experience, Other:
Applicants should have a high school education and further environmental or science related education/training is desirable.  3-5 years environmental field and laboratory testing experience is also required.  Applicants are required to possess or be able to readily obtain a State of Indiana Class C wastewater operators certification.  Familiarity with standard methods for the examination of water and wastewater is desirable.  Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions and carry out duties with minimum direct supervision.  Must also have and maintain a valid drivers license. Position will involve physical effort and exposure to noise, heights and temperature extremes.

INDIANA WASTEWATER TREATMENT OPERATOR LICENSE EXAM -
2008  Exam Dates:   Oct. 9, 2008
Applications to take the exam must be postmarked 45 days before the exam date.
Note:  A new application form is under development for the Oct. 2008 exam and should be available on the IDEM website Summer  2008.
2009 Exam Dates
April 23, 2009 (postmark application by March 9, 2009)
Oct. 8, 2009 (postmark application by August 24, 2009)
